Salah sent a heartfelt message to Diaz, praising his energy, drive, and passion on the pitch. He also acknowledged Diaz's strength and resilience in the face of challenges, both on and off the pitch.
Salah's message reads: "Your energy, drive, and passion on the pitch have left a mark that won't be forgotten. We were truly lucky to have you at Liverpool, and it's been an honour to share part of your journey and success story."
He continued: "As a teammate, you were more than reliable - you were inspiring. As a friend, even more so. We all saw the strength it took to keep going through the tough times off the pitch. What you went through would've broken most, but you came back strong and gave everything for the club."
Salah ended his message with "Siga haciendo orgullosa a su gente," which translates to "Keep making your people proud," alongside a Colombian flag emoji as a mark of respect.
Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 and played 148 times for the club, scoring 41 goals and winning four major trophies. He will now help Bayern Munich defend their Bundesliga title next season.
Liverpool will now look to replace Diaz before their season begins against Bournemouth on Friday the 15th.
