Diaz's move to Bayern Munich came after a busy summer transfer window for Liverpool, with the club spending nearly £300m on new players. Despite some initial hesitation from manager Arne Slot, the £65.5m bid from Bayern Munich was enough to secure Diaz's signature.
Salah has penned a touching farewell message to Diaz, praising his energy, drive, and passion on the pitch. He also acknowledged Diaz's strength and resilience in the face of challenges off the pitch.
"Your energy, drive, and passion on the pitch have left a mark that won't be forgotten," Salah wrote. "We were truly lucky to have you at Liverpool, and it's been an honour to share part of your journey and success story."
Salah's message also highlighted Diaz's ability to inspire his teammates and earn respect through his resilience. He ended his message with "Siga haciendo orgullosa a su gente," which translates to "Keep making your people proud," alongside a Colombia flag emoji as a mark of respect.
Diaz joined Liverpool in January 2022 and went on to play 148 times for the club, scoring 41 goals and winning four major trophies. He also reached the Champions League final in 2022.
With Diaz's departure, Liverpool will now look to replace him before the start of their new season against Bournemouth on Friday the 15th.
