He had recently joined the team from Southampton and was eager to take to the field. Walker-Peters played the first half of the game and was pleased to be able to participate despite being new to the team.

"I've been looking forward to playing and wearing the West Ham shirt since I joined the team," he said. "I'm happy to be at the level of fitness to play 45 minutes, and I'm excited to continue improving."

Having played at London Stadium for both Southampton and Tottenham, Walker-Peters was familiar with the passionate fans of both teams. He enjoyed playing in front of them and appreciated the opportunity to build relationships with his new teammates.

"It was great to be out there with the team, and I'm looking forward to competing and pushing myself to be the best I can be," he said. "That's what it takes to be a successful team."
