Martinelli replaced Jurrien Timber in the 80th minute and made an immediate impact, scoring a goal after receiving a pass from Eberechi Eze. This is not the first time Martinelli has come off the bench to make a significant contribution, as he also scored and provided an assist in Arsenal's 2-0 Champions League win over Athletic Club earlier in the week.
In a post-match interview with BBC Sport, Martinelli stated that he is determined to regain his place in the starting lineup. He acknowledged that the team created several scoring opportunities but was unable to secure a win.
Martinelli emphasized the importance of working together as a team to achieve their goals, saying, "We wanted to win the game. We created a lot of chances during the game and were just a bit unlucky in certain moments." He also expressed his satisfaction with his goal but noted that the team's focus should be on winning games rather than drawing them.
Martinelli's comments suggest that he is eager to play a more prominent role in the team. He stated, "I work for those moments. I leave (selection) for the gaffer; he knows what he does. I just do my best to help this football club." He also acknowledged the trust that the team has in Mikel Arteta, saying, "Of course, I don't want to be on the bench. I want to play 90 minutes every single game, but (Arteta) knows what he does, he's the gaffer and everyone trusts him. We're really happy with him."
