According to reports, Trafford will return to his boyhood club, Manchester City, in a record-breaking transaction. This deal will surpass the previous record fee paid for a British goalkeeper, which was £30 million when Jordan Pickford left Sunderland for Everton.
Newcastle United was also interested in breaking the record but ultimately failed to reach a personal agreement with Trafford. This gives Manchester City an opportunity to secure the player's services.
Newcastle United has faced challenges in the transfer market, missing out on several key targets, including Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo, and now James Trafford.
