Silva praised his team's efforts, stating, "I agree, well deserved. If someone had to win this game, it should have been Fulham Football Club."
He acknowledged that the team conceded an early goal from a wide free-kick, but noted that Fulham was the only team that tried to score and play an offensive style of football throughout the game.
"They scored early, but after that, they just tried to prevent us from breaking them down by sitting back and defending," Silva explained.
Southampton's defensive tactics made it difficult for Fulham to break through, but Silva praised his team's patience and ability to eventually find a way to score.
"We need to create more scoring opportunities, especially in the 18-yard box," Silva said. "But even so, I think we created enough chances to have a different result at halftime."
The second half was more of the same, with Fulham dominating the game and creating chances to score. Silva attributed the team's improved performance to changes made at halftime, including the introduction of Adama and Lukić, which added more dynamism to the team's attacking play.
"We started to create more opportunities, with crosses from both sides and inside," Silva said. "The goals came late, but overall, one team deserved to win, and that was us."
