"Genesis is one of our young players who has been part of our academy," said Maresca. "We give our young players opportunities to grow and develop when they deserve it. Recently, he has been working with our under-21 team and has been doing well. When we need him, he works with us, and we're happy to give him a chance to participate in the next game."
Maresca also addressed concerns about Djurgarden's artificial pitch. He acknowledged that it's a different surface, but emphasized that it won't be an excuse for Chelsea's performance. "We know that Djurgarden's players have been complaining about the pitch, but we're not making any excuses," said Maresca. "We'll compete in both games, and we'll do our best regardless of the surface."
